Ewetopia Fiber Mill
La Farge, Wisconsin
Spring Fiber Mill Open House!
April 19th, 10am-3pm
Mill tours will happen on the hour! Come see the machines in action and learn more about how wonderful wool is!
We are taking in orders for custom wool fertilizer pelleting! Finished orders under 100# are charged $4/lb and orders 100# or more are $2/lb, there is a 1-5% loss in incoming weight roughly. Please make sure (double sure!) there are no hoof trimmings, rocks, or other hard debris in your fiber before sending it in. Manure, vegetable matter and dirt are all welcome and make the fertilizer better! Pellets turn out best when fiber is stored dry. Fertiliser is returned in bulk bags, or we can discuss retail bagged and weighed options.
Yarn orders need to be a minimum of 10# of raw weight or 5# washed (please contact us if your batch is less, we can figure it out!) - carding orders do not have a minimum weight requirement, but do have a $15 run fee for orders under 5# washed weight.
We are currently running 4-6 months out for yarns and rovings. Sooner if the fiber comes in washed and doesn’t need rewashing.
Some lustrous breeds like Gotland, Leicester Long wools, Lincolns, Alpaca, Llama, Angora/Mohair, and other silky hair like fibers may need to be blended with crimpy wool to run through our equipment. In these cases we will contact you with options!
Our machines handle fiber that is 3-6” in staple length the best. Let’s discuss options if your fiber is longer or shorter!
Before sending your fiber in, PLEASE make sure you have a filled out processing form in each batch of fiber to be processed. This is crucial to keep our efficiency up and turn around times as short as possible.

Harvest
Your fiber means a lot to you. You have fed your animals all year in anticipation of that spring bounty… a bag of glorious fiber! We know that excitement! We have shepherded a flock of fine wool crosses (merino, cormo, corriedale and border leicester sheep) for the past 14 years, and the spring shearing is personally my favorite day of the year.
Process
We are first and foremost fiber connoisseurs. We delight in the finished yarn and seeing what each flock or herd produces. At the mill, we can wash, pick, card, pin draft, spin and make core-spun rug yarn. We also specialize in dyeing and curating hand knitting yarns for your special projects or customers.
